Palliative Care Testimonial

In memory of our precious Hayat Al Samerrai

Sometimes it is hard to say the word memory , but it makes it easier when you remember the positive part of it, feeling that the person you lost is still around.

Hayat was one of a kind to my family, to everyone who knew her, and to me . She was not only my mom's best friend, but also everyone's mother, sister, friend and support.

She was a strong woman , yes she was.

Cancer was in her way but that did not stop her from being who she is everyday, smiling, joking, taking care of everyone and making sure that everyone around her is happy, even at her worse. The diagnosis was something she accepted, educated herself about through every detail, took every risk and every chance she had, to make it easier on her and the people she loved. She wanted to live. Life IS her name.

She called you her angels, Rebecca and Janane. Believe me, your support, full care, pure honesty, and professionalism for your patients are unpredictable. It would have been hard not to have you around Hayat, we cannot thank you enough. She was blessed by nurses like you in and outside the hospital.

Dr. Hibah, this goes to you as well. Your presence and spreading awareness of what we will all be going through in the coming stages with Hayat, prepared us as to what we should expect.

Hayat did suffer the pain, but our memory of her does not take us there, it is always her smile, her energy, her great and loving spirit that we keep remembering everyday.

Endless words and so much to say about Mama Hayat, you all know as much. I am forever thankful to you angels, for being there for my second mother who I know is always watching us from above.

Balsam is one of a kind , such an embracing team.
With so much gratitude and respect
Best wishes
Rim
